<p><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: large;">In Deuteronomy 15:9-10, we read God admonishing against those who would think to refuse the poor any loans as one nears the every 7th year when all debts are cancelled. (Bankruptcy originated in this law of the Bible.)</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: large;">What is interesting is that God foresees how one law to help the poor -- the cancellation of debts every seven years -- could be used as an excuse to not give or loan money to one in need. God says don't take advantage of the Law in that way.</span></p>

Here are just a couple of them:<br /> &nbsp;<br /> <strong>PROMISES FOR TODAY</strong><br /> <em>“<span style="text-decoration: underline;">"Good will come</span> to him who is GENEROUS . . . he will <span style="text-decoration: underline;">never be shaken</span> . . . he will be <span style="text-decoration: underline;">remembered forever</span> . . . he will have <span style="text-decoration: underline;">no fear of bad news</span> . . . his <span style="text-decoration: underline;">heart will steadfast</span>, trusting in the Lord." </em>Psalm 112:5-7&nbsp; (NIV</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: large;"><em>“Those who give generously to those in need... will <span style="text-decoration: underline;">never be forgotten</span>... they will have <span style="text-decoration: underline;">influence and hono</span>r.”</em><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: large;"> Psalm 112:9 (NLT)</span><br /> <br /><span style="font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: large;"> <em>“Be generous to poor people, and freely lend them as much as they need. Never be hard-hearted and tight-fisted with them... Be sure to give to them without any hesitation.
