King of Kings 1961 Starring Jeffrey Hunter - in 17 parts

This movie stars Jeffrey Hunter who in a few years time won the part as Captain of the Starship Enterprise. However, Hunter died after filming the pilot that launched that series. I like this Jesus story because Jesus is manly which is submerged in later movies.

Best part is Sermon on the Mount - 12 minutes

Part 1 - Credits and introduction to Roman rule - 10 minutes

Part 2 - Three Magi (wisemen) - 10 minutes

Part 3 - talk of Bethlehem, Herodias, daughter, wants Jobh the Baptist killed. 10 minutes

Part 4 - Baptism of Jesus [disappointing because God's voice from Heaven is not included]

Part 5 - call of Peter, the rock; John the Baptist - 10 minutes

Part 6 - healing of Jariius, and dramatization of Barabas as seeking revolution, to gain Jesus as supporter -- a license that is not gospel-based. Jesus explains the parable of the tares of the field. - 10 minutes

Part 7 - Jesus meets John the Baptist in prison -- more license taken that is not in the Bible - 10 minutes

Part 8 - missing

Part 9 - Herod wants Jesus stopped; Sermon on the Mount - 10 minutes

Part 10 - missing

Part 11 - Jesus sends out disciples to heal - 10 minutes

Part 12 - Jesus goes to Temple at Jerusalem -- lots of license taken to have Barabas involved in revolt

Part 13 - missing

Part 14 - missing

Part 15 - Pilate asks 'what is truth' - Jesus at his trial

Part 16 - Barabas is taken to court -- he will be replaced by Jesus as the one to be released - more license for dramatic story-telling, but not Biblical

Part 17 - Jesus on Cross, and resurrection
