Bible Study on Anger: What Does The Bible Teach?

Love is the essence of God's nature:

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)

Jesus is an example to follow of what it means to love another:
“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for each other.” (1 John 3:16)

The opposite of love is hate. And hate is exemplified by anger:

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18)

A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control. (Proverbs 29:11)
